I’m thrilled to be going south to the sun on March 5th and 6th for an evening of Waves and a day of Heartbeat at the New World School of the Arts.

March 5 from 7 to 10PM
Stepping Out: An evening’s explorations following the Waves map of Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms® movement meditation practice. An opportunity to both start the journey and revisit familiar landmarks with curiosity and creativity.  Allowing ourselves the freedom to surrender to the simplicity of rhythm and moves we give ourselves the opportunity to wake up to body and soul. No previous experience necessary.

March 6 from Noon to 6PM
Moving On: A day-trip to the heartland.  As the body moves so does the heart.  The same we way practice moving in, out and through in our Waves practice, there is a 5Rhythms® map to moving fully through our embodied emotions, Heartbeat.  In this workshop we will begin to investigate that map through the shape, breath and locomotion of emotion. Prerequisite: Waves.

As we reach the mid-point in our 6-week progressive workshop Spirit: Silence and Stillness I am excited to announce a new spring offering, 5 Maps to Freedom, 6 weeks of exploring the rhythms in the Rhythms, dancing on the edges between the Rhythms, moving with where they merge, surrendering to where they separate.

Finding an empty space!

As we all know finding the empty space is a big part of our 5Rhythms practice, a big part of life as practice. And, at the moment, finding space is a big part of holding 5Rhythms classes in New York City!

No matter how well we adjust to the Night Waves time change what we really need is a new home for the class. If you know of a space, in Manhattan, 1800 sq. ft. or larger, with a sprung wood floor, a sense of humor and an open mind, please let me know.

Effective immediately Friday’s Night Waves class will be held from 8PM – 10PM at the Joffrey Ballet, 434 6th Ave. (near 10th St.), 4th Floor.

Why?  So that we can practice being our wild, bigger than life selves without interfering with the classical practice of the ballet on the other side of the studio wall.  So that we can pursue the practice of living in a peaceable kingdom where there is room for every dancer to be in love, moving from the heart.

Looking forward to sharing the dance floor with you every Friday night.
